What are MOI’s for a head injury?
A
Trauma to head, twisting, violent motion

What occurs when the brain swells or there is hemmorhaging?
A
Intracranial pressure rises

What are S/S of minor head injury?
A
Breif change in LOR, temproarily blurred vision, nausea/vomit, headache, amnesia

What are S/S of a severe head injury?
A
LOR is disoriented/combative/unresponsive, HR decreases, RR hyperventilates/erratic, unequal pupils

How should we treat a severe head injury?
A
Manage ABC’s, control hemmorrhage with bulky dressing and diffuse pressure, protect spine, evac immediately
