  • Pituitary gland is called the “master gland” but needs feedback from the hypothalamus

  • When hormones are to above normal feedback loops reduce their levels
  • When hormones are below normal feedbacks loops increase their levels

A

Hormone Problems w/ levels Resulting Disease

Insulin Too Low. Type 1 Diabetes
(High blood sugar)

Growth Too high. Acromegaly
Hormone (Excess growth)

T3/T4. Too High. Hyperthyroidism
(High metabolism)

Cortisol. Too Low Addison’s Disease
(Weakness, etc.)
