Q

What is stigma towards disabled?

A

Labels are placed on the human differences. Labeled people are linked to unwarranted characteristics. Labeled people are viewed os ‘other’. Unpleasant emotional reactions (fear, repulsion, superiority) are felt about the other. Ultimately, the other looses status and suffers discrimination.

Stigma can be felt (negative feelings) or enacted (discrimination).
