Located outside large buildings, schools, etc.
raised operating stem inside a 2 1/2” pipe approx 12” above grade. Has a 5 sided but on top.
How do you operate a fire valve?
Using a fire plug wrench, turn but counter clockwise, then turn the operating head 1/4 turn clockwise
Curb stopcock description
Box at ground level between the curb and property line in front of buildings where gas is supplied at high pressure.
How is the curb stopcock operated?
Remove box cover, turn valve 1/4 turn either way with t-handle
Curb gate valve description and operation.
Has a hand wheel or 2” square operating head. Turns clockwise 6-20 turns depending on pipe size.
