Inhalation of aerosolized rodent poo. No human to human transmission

Pulmonary edema from lymphoblasts and macrophages coming in that release cytokines and increase pulmonary capillary permeability

Major complications of hantavirus?
A
- Pulmonary edema
- SOB
- Hypotension
- Cardiogenic shock

What is the tetrad of presentation of hantavirus?
A
- Thrombocytopenia
- Leukocytosis (left shift)
- Abnormal lymphoblasts
- Increased hematocrit

What is the treatment for hantavirus?
A
No treatment.. Supportive care. Even tho pts are hypotensive, DONT GIVE FLUIDS!!!
