We do all marketing stuff internally here ourselves.
“I understand, I can see you guys have done a good job… I wouldn’t have reached out if I thought you guys were like any other practice… so I’m reaching out for that reason… not that I just think you guys get it but I think we can improve on what you have in place currently… now I was taking a look at your advertising funnel the other day when I saw an ad of yours so I decided I’d spend a few hours creating an advertising campaign to bring you guys more customers… I just wanted to talk to ______ and see if he’d/she’d like to see what we’ve built to bring you guys more customers.”
We already do that/have that/have someone for that/have an agency/marketing person that does that for us.

I built out some advertisements and webpages for an advertising campaign to get you more Invisalign patients, that I’ll think you guys will love it… is [decision-maker] available?
Decision Maker is not here.
- Well, when will they be in?… I’ll call back then, thanks!
- IF they won’t be in for a while or the owner is pretty hands-off, or if they just give you a shitty answer…
“Who’s the best person I should talk to about your marketing that can communicate with [DM name]?”
- IF you can’t talk to anybody, then go and get the DM’s email.
Decision Maker is busy with a patient.
“Okay, about how long will that take, I’ll give them a callback.”
Make sure to catch the receptionist’s name to note it down for later. If you talk to the office manager too, take their name down as well.
Then next time u call back if they’re busy again and you find out there won’t be a good time to get ahold of him, then just ask for the email.
What is the best way to getting past the gatekeeper?
Billy Gene thinks it’s best to keep it simple and say:
You: “Hey it’s _____, is _____ available?”
Gatekeeper: “May I ask what this is about?”
You: “It’s _____, the marketing guy.
Funny shit but it really works. It’s a confidence play. It’s a confident play. It’s a transfer of confidence.
If they ask “what is this regarding” again/second time:
“Yeah, I just finished up building out [DM’s name] an advertising campaign so I’m just trying to get in touch rn.
Do you know ____ personally/have a relationship with him?
Yes, I do know him. lol …
Let me get your contact info/ take down your contact info.
“I appreciate that but that’s okay [fname]… I can call back…
When’s a good time to reach [Dm]?
IF there’s not a good answer for that, say:
“Then besides [DM], who’s the best person to talk to about your marketing that communicates to [DM]?”
