What is the correct sling angle and how do you ensure that your slings angle is always great from the horizontal?

Q

Can you form a choker hitch from a looped rope? What must you do if you’re rigging a shackle to a choker?

A

Yes as long as you use a thimble. Make sure the pin bears the eye of the sling. If the pin allowed to bear on the running line, the movement of the running line could loosen the shackle pin.
