Referee, Lines Men
Authorization to Serve
Move the hand to indicate the direction of service
Team to Serve
Extend the arm to the side of the team that will serve
Change of Courts
Raise the forearms front and back and twist them around the body
Time-out
Place the palm of one hand over the fingers of the other, held vertically (forming a “T”) and then indicate the requesting team
Misconduct Warning
Show a yellow card for warning
Misconduct Penalty
Show a red card for penalty
Expulsion
Show both cards jointly for expulsion
Disqualification
Show red and yellow cards separately for disqualification
(1) End of set or match (R1)
Cross the forearms in front of the chest, hands open
Ball not tossed or released at the service hit
Life the extended arm, the palm of the hand facing upwards
Delay in service
Raise five fingers, spread open
Blocking Fault or Screening
Raise both arms vertically, palms forward
Positional or Rotational Fault
Make a circular motion with the forefinger

Point the arm and fingers toward the floor

Raise the forearms vertically, hands open, palms toward the body

Slowly lift the forearm, palm of the hand facing upwards
Double contact
Raise two fingers, spread open
Four hits
Raise four fingers, spread open
Net touched by a player- served ball fails to pass to the opponent through crossing space
Indicate the relevant side of the net with the corresponding hand
Reaching beyond the net
Place a hand above the net, palm facing downwards
Attack-hit fault
Make a downward motion with the forearm, hand open
Interference due to penetration into the opponent’s court and space under the net Ball crosses completely the lower space under the net The server touches the court (the end line included) or the ground outside the service zone Unless for the server, the player steps outside his/ her court at the moment
Point to the court under the net or to the respective line
Double fault and replay
Raise both thumbs vertically
Ball touched
Brush with the palm of one hand the fingers of the other, held vertically
Delay warning/delay penalty
Cover the wrist with a yellow card (warning) or with a red card (penalty)
Substitution
USAV: Make a circular motion of the forearms with closed fists around each other. Subs will only be used in Triples, Quads and Six-Person play

Raise the flag vertically

Raise the flag and touch the top with the palm of the free hand
Ball “out” or server’s foot fault
Wave flag over the head and point to the antenna or the respective line.

Raise and cross both arms and hands in front of the chest
