What is carpal tunnel syndrome?
Is a group of symptoms including pain, numbness, weakness and pins and needles caused by compression of the median nerve as it passes through the wrist, within the carpal tunnel.

What is skiers thumb?
This is an acute partial or complete rupture of the Ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) of the metacarpo-phalangeal joint.
The metacarpo-phalangeal joints (MCP) refer to the joints between the metacarpal bones and the phalanges of the fingers. That means the MCP joint is the knuckle between the hand and the finger. cause may be unknown but can include, repetitive movements, vibrating tools, obesity, pregnancy, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and a ganglion cyst.

What is mallet finger?
This is a tear of a tendon that straightens the end joint of a finger. The tendon may tear where it joins the end of the bone, or it may cause an avulsion (mallet fracture).
What is a ganglion cyst?
It is a fluid filled swelling that usually form near a joint or tendon, the wrist, hand and fingers being most common. They can range from pea to gold ball size.
What does the finklesteins test diagnose?
De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis.
A painful, inflammatory condition caused by tendons on the side of the wrist at the base of the thumb. Pain, which is the main complaint, gets worse with abduction of the thumb, a grasping action of the hand, and an ulnar deviation of the wrist. Thickening and swelling can also be present.
Commonly caused by overuse. affects the extensor pollicis brevis (EPB) tendon and the abductor pollicis longus (APL) tendon.
