Q

Superficial Radial and Ulnar A pathway in hand

A

Ulnar N splits into superficial and deep + dorsal carpal branch after tunnel of guyon

Superficial Radial A branches of Radial A before entering the hand
Superficial ulnar A makes superficial palmar arch with superficial Radial A (though it’s not always present)
- branches from here are common palmar digital —> proper palmar digital A

15
Q

Deep radial and ulnar A pathway

A

Ulnar A splits into deep artery after tunnel of guyon
Radial A wraps around lateral wrist through snuff box —> travels between 1st dorsal interossei and then between transverse and oblique head adductor policis before showing up on palm as deep radial

The two deep branches from the deep palmar arch (more contribution from Radial A)
- branches into palmar metacarpal A which meets with common palmar digital A to supply finger via proper palmar digital A

16
Q

Dorsal carpal arch

A

Dorsal carpal branch of Ulnar A and dorsal carpal branch of Radial A make this arch
Branches are dorsal metacarpal A

17
Q

Median N pathway Hand

A

Palmar cutaneous branch separates before carpal tunnel and travels superior to tunnel to supply lateral 2/3 of palm
Recurrent branch split off after tunnel to supply thenar muscles
Motor branch to lumbricals
Common palmar digital N —> Proper palmar digital N to lateral 3.5 fingers

18
Q

Ulnar N pathway hand

A

Superficial branch
- mostly sensory
- supplies only palmaris brevis
Splits to common palmar digital N —> proper palmar digital N to supply medial 1.5 fingers
Deep branch is pure motor to most intrinsic hand muscles
