Haiti is located in the Caribbean island of Hispaniola in Central America
. The Dominican Republic to the east of Haiti (half of island)
. Cuba and Jamaica to the east and the Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands to the south.

A

. 8 hospitals collapsed
. 80% of school damaged

. 30,000 commercial buildings collapsed
. 60% of the nation’s administrative and economic infrastructure was lost
