• Consent
• Identify patient - speak to patient, 2nd staff member to check patients name band and drug chart
• Inspect bags - check for damage, expiry dates, patients details match, blood group and number same on bag and tags and transfusion slip

TRALI/TACO/ARDs
TRALI less common due to leucodepletion

Other complications of blood tx - Hypothermia, Coagulopathy, low Plts, low Ca, high K
