Actions:
AR / Check RPM / 65 KIAS
Engine shut-down
Fuel valve => off

AR speed?
65 KIAS
Main rotor speed => power off?
320-430 RPM
How do you recognize a complete loss of tailrotor thrust?
Left yaw
Loss of tailrotor control
How do you recognize a loss of tailrotor control?
Pedals jammed, loss of pedal effectiveness.
What are two factors to consider while having a loss of tailrotor control?
(clockwise turning helicopter)
- RH wind is favourable
- Below 20 KIAS => no go-around possible due to loss of tailrotor fin effect
Procedure for loss of tailrotor control?
- Reduce speed to 70 KIAS
- Accu TEST: ON
- Accu TEST: OFF (after 5 seconds)
Tail Rotor Failures
Complete loss of tailrotor thrust
Hover IGE => Procedure?
- Land immediately
1. Twist grip => IDLE
2. Collective => Increase to cushion landing
VNE power-off?
125 KIAS
(-3KIAS / 1000ft)
VEMD failure => both screens => procedure?
Failure of both screens To avoid any power overlimit, the maximum authorized power will be the power needed to establish level flight with the following law:
IAS kt = 100 kt at 0 Hp - (2 kt /1000 ft).
IAS km/h = 185 km/h at 0 Hp - (4 km/h per 300 m).
LAND AS SOON AS PRACTICABLE
Landing procedure: carry out a no hover landing. NR is constant at 394 rpm.
