MAIN= inhibits ovulation
Also thickens cervical mucus and thins endometrium

What are the SEs of the Depo?
A
Irregular bleeding
Weight gain
Potentially increased risk of osteoporosis
Variable return of fertility

What drug does the depo injection contain? How/ how often is it given?
A
Medroxyprogesterone acetate 150mg
Every 12 weeks by IM injection
