What investigations are needed for ? Gallstones and what would they show?

A

Bedside- raised temp in cholecystitis/cholangitis
Bloods- raised WCC/CRP
Imaging- USS- gallstones/dilated CBD. If dilated need ERCP

A

Sepsis/surgery
Adrenal haemorrhage e.g. Waterhouse-Friderichsen syndrome
Steroid withdrawal

What is the management of an Addisonian crisis\?

A

Hydrocortisone 100mg IM or IV (continued 6 hourly until stable)
1L normal saline over 30-60 mins or + dextrose if hypoglycaemic
Oral replacement after 24hrs
