When in a consultation, explain why you are asking said question to show that they all have purpose in diagnosis or discussion
Cystitis
Lower uriniary tract infection or UTI
Bacteria travels up urethra to bladder
Usually self limiting
Possible due to wiping back to front, diabetic, sex causing minor trauma
Vaginal candidiasis (thrush)
NOT STI - Yeast infection
Itchy and burning, skin may be raw from scratching and excoriated
Discharge is thick, white/cream like and can smell
If green is most likely bacterial infection
Dry properly, loose underwear, avoid irritants - topical cream, oral capsule
Primary Dysmenorrhea
Peak incidence 17-25
Symptoms: cramping, pain should ease off as period is ending
Non-pharmacological - Exercise releases endorphins, heat pads relax the muscles
Medication - NSAIDS (ibuprofen)
Menorrhagia
Heavy bleeding during period
OTC - tranexamic acid
