Haemolytic anaemia

Rx for HUS?
Supportive
ABx are contraindicated!
Features of hep A?
Acute 2-4 weeks incubation
Flu like prodrome
Jaundice and hepatosplenomegaly
Infective Causes of bloody diarrhoea?
Shigella
Campylobacter
Amoebiasis
What organism have a 1-6 hour incubation period for diarrhoea?
Staph aureus, b. Cereus (vomiting precedes diarrhoea)
What organism have a >7 day incubation period for diarrhoea?
Giardiasis and amoebiasis
Diagnostic test for rotavirus in a Child?
Electron microscopy of the stool
