What is the cause of GB?

A

30% of cases occur after gastroenteritis infection caused by
Campylobacter jejuni

What are the inital symptoms of GB?

A
  1. Gastroenteritis, URTI (campylobacter jejuni, CMV and HIV)

2. 2-3 weeks later peripheral neuropathy

What are the peripheral neuropathy signs?

A
  1. Progresses acutely
  2. Ascending paraesthesia & pain
  3. Symmetrical limb weakness
  4. Hypotonia
  5. Flaccid paralysis
  6. Altered sensation/numbness
  7. Fasciculations
    (LMN signs)

A
