What are the different types of services that are available to different groups that can assist them in meeting their needs?
There are variety of services available to different groups that can assist them in meeting their needs. These include:
- Financial support
- Transport
- Accommodation
- Health care
- Counselling
- Education
- Employment
- legal aid
What is financial support?
Money.
examples: Centreline, salvation army, Vinnie’s.
What is Transport?
Way of getting from one place to another.
examples: bus, train, taxi, community transport (for wheelchair people)
What is accommodation?
Accommodation and housing providing shelter.
examples: salvation army, Vinnie’s, government housing.
What is health care?
Doctors, medicine, hospitals.
example: Medicare, private health insurance, concession cards, free clinics.
What is counselling?
Helping people with their mental wellbeing
examples: Psychologists, helpline, beyond blue.
What is education?
Learning through school, UNI, TAFE, college, apprenticeship, GOALS, foundations that offer free programs to support education, summer school.
What is employment?
Work or a job some description.
examples: school, job services, work experience, recruitment, services government agencies.
What is legal aid?
Free service to deal with legal matters.
examples: visas, RACS.
