It’s how we share beliefs and ideas from one person to another. The Communication Dimension, with its spectrum extending from “Direct” to “Indirect”, is actually multidimensional—the observable confidence of several cultural values.
Dimensions of Communication
What are the 4 Dimensions of Communication?
• Verbal/Non Verbal Dimension
• Written & Oral Verbal Dimension
• Formal & Informal Dimension
• Intentional & Unintentional Dimension
> Encompasses the use of LANGUAGE and CHOICE OF WORDS
Engaging in a discussion, delivering speeches, participating in interviews, exchanging ideas in meetings, and making phone calls to communicate with others
VERBAL DIMENSION
> Talks about the facial expressions, gesture and bodily movement.
Includes eye contact, facial expressions, tone of voice, deliberate silence, timing, appearance, touch and hand movements.
NON-VERBAL DIMENSION
Note!
Verbal and Nonverbal Dimension must be used together to clearly impart the message to the receiver. A misunderstanding usually happens when word contradict actions.
Spoken communication that imparts the message with the use of proper delivery
Oral Dimension
Transcription of thoughts and ideas
Written Dimension

Just like in Verbal and Nonverbal Dimension, misunderstanding happens when oral and written dimension contradicts one another
It is the meticulous observation of appropriateness in dress, language and setting. For example; a meeting with the President
Formal Dimension
It uses more casual approach with no regard of formalities. One of it’s example is tree planning activity.
Informal Dimension
Strategy this is something that you are planning to say or do on purpose. One of it’s examples are Sona by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte & Valedictorian Speech.
Intentional Dimension
This is something you are not intended or planned to say or do. Such as on-the spot fliptop battle
Unintentional Dimension
Culture
Culture has greatly affect the way people communicate towards others. It was all rooted down on how men and women was viewed from different perspectives in terms of language, communication style, body movements and gestures.
Gender
Gender also influences how people perceived messages, the types of messages they send, and how they understand them. Gender roles and norms can significantly affect how people communicate with each other and how it was interpreted and responded to that sometimes results to gender barrier
