Q

Why are noble gases unreactive?

A
  • full electronic structures
  • do not lose, gain or share electrons

Q

Uses of noble gases

A

Helium: filling weather/ad balloons
Argon: fill tungsten bulbs (inert atmosphere prevents oxidation of filament)
Neon: lights
Xenon: Vehicle headlamps
Argon: inert atmoshphere for certain process ie. welding stainless steel
