grounding Flashcards
1
Q
what is grounding and what is it also called?
A
The process by which an object removes excess electric charge to become neutral.
- This excess charge is transferred to an object great enough to take on the excess charge.
- Excess is also referred to as discharging.
2
Q
How does grounding work if the charged object is positively charged?
A
If the charged object was positively charged, electrons from the large neutral object move towards the charged object.
3
Q
How does grounding work is the object is negatively charged?
A
If the charged object was negatively charged, electrons from the charged object move towards the large neutral object.
