Ground- Reuben Flashcards
Flying with inoperative equipment is found where?
FAR/AIM
What documents are required to be onboard before flying? and what is its acronym?
Think Arrow
Air worthiness
Registration
Radio Station License
Operating Handbook (G1000 manuals need to be in there as well)
Weight and Balance (from the operating Handbook)
External Data Plate for the Archer
How long is the airworthiness good for?
It is good forever as long as it is maintained and ADS
How long is a registration good for?
3 years
Radio license is required when?
flight outside the United States
Is the POH interchangable?
No it is specific to each aircraft. Needs to match the tail number.
What is the acronym for inspections?
Annual- 12 calendar month Vor- 30 days ifr only I00 hour- 100 hours Altimeter- 24 months Transponder- 24 months Elt- 121.5 Static Encoder- 24 months
Who can complete an annual?
A&P or IA ( Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic) (Inspector Authorization)
WHo can complete a 100 hr Inspection? and how much can you overfly it? What do they check?
you can overfly it by 10 hours and it has to be enroute. A&P can complete them. They check airframe, power plant, and propeller
What are IFR flight related inspections?
VOR, Altimeter, Static encoder.
What are the ELT limits? when can it be tested?
12 months 1 hour .5
What are required VFR day?
91.205 FAR AIM Atomatoflames Anti-collision Tachometer Oil Pressure Manifold Pressure Gauge (not for a fixed pitched Air Speed Temperature Gauge (Liquid Cooled) Oil Temperature (Air cooled) Fuel Gauge Landing Gear Position light (For retractable gear) Altimeter Magnetic heading indicator ELT Seat Belts
What is 91.205?
VFR day flight required equipment.
91.200’s are what in the FAR/AIM?
They are the equipment regulations for night(91.205 C) and day VFR (91.205)
What are the night VFR flight rules?
FLAPS Fuses (1 set or 3 of the same) Landing lights (only required for hire) Anti-collision Light Position Lights Source of power (a battery)
Where can we find preventative maintanance? and who can perform it?
43.7 (Who can perform it) and 43.A.C (list of things to do)
Where can you find airworthiness directives (AD’S)? Who is responsible?
on the FAA website. and AD is like a recall for the plane. A part that is defective. The owner operator is responsible for all AD’S
What are the recurring ADs for the Piper Archer?
5000 hours Wing Spar, vacuum, stabilator cable, 5000 hour. 500 hour air-filter
Special Airworthiness Information Bulletins (SAIB)
Its a suggestion not required at all. The FAA has noticed a trend, but it is not yet an AD
What is the purpose and procedure for a special flight permit?
gone past the annual inspection…. you need to get it from a FSDO. If you have an airplane that is not airworthy, you can move it with a special flight permit. Also known as a ferry permit. Needs to be for either safety or in flight to get the airplane
What is an ETARP?
Inoperative equipment (91.213)
Equipment list MEL (Minimum Equipment List)
TCDS (Type Certificate Data Sheet)
ADS
Regulations (91.205)
POH KOEL (Kinds of operations Equipment List)
PIC decision if not safe, deactivate and placard
What is an MEL?
A minimum equipment list. a list of equipment that can be inoperative. You have to apply for it. It is serial number specific. Our planes to not have them (Do not bring it up on the Checkride)
What is a TCDS?
Its a Type Certificate Data Sheet. The archer TCDS gives all engine and plane information. Its like the birth certificate of the aircraft.
What type of engine do we have?
Lycoming O 360 A4M
What type of propeller do we have?
76” propeller
What is static RPM?
2300 rpm, needed
What is a KOEL?
Kinds of Operations Equipment. Shows what equipment is needed on the airplane. Only really shown on a cessna.
Are landing lights require?
Only for night flight that is for hire.
What is a placard sticker?
Only needed for the
