Defins

A

-bereavement- any loss event.
-grief- thoughts ad behav assoc with bereavem.
Normal- typical symps eg disbelief, shock, numb, unreality, anger, guilt, sad, preoccupat with deceased, alt sleep and appet, wl, seein or hearing deceased. Us grad reduc intensity of symps. Typical reac up to 12 mnth.
Abnormal- intense, prolonged, delayed/absent, symps outside norm range eg worthless, thoguhts of death, excess guilt, slowing thought and movem, prolonged abn func, hallucins.

A
Yearning and at least 5 of the following at least daily or to disabling degree-
Emot numb, life is emaningless.
Mistrust
Bitterness
Diffic accepting the loss
Identity confus
Avoidance of reality of loss
Diffic moving on with life
-symps present at high elvs for at least 6mnths from the loss, and assoc func impairment.
