fluffy, light grey fungal infection
lettuces can rot at base, going yellow and dieing
tomatoes: light yellow spots on unripe fruit, and infection in damaged side shoots.
strawberry: covered in fungus
flowers; petals show purple spots and in very damp cond. leads to a mumified flower head.

damp cond. for infection and spore production
spores spread by wind and enter the wound
infected plants can act as an over winter host, and the spores can fall to the ground
very infective in unsterilized soils on young seedlings
