what is a greenfield site?
A
An area at the edge of a city which has never been developed in any way.

what are the pros of a greenfield site?
A
- greenfield sites have lots of space
- good quality soil
- increases the number of houses which helps to satisfy demands
- no demolition costs
- design a building to suit your companies needs
- closer to customer base more people are migrating to the suburbs

what are cons of a brownfield site?
A
- further from the city centre and services
- planning permission is much harder
- once a greenfield site is developed it loses one of its key purposes to reduce carbon dioxide levels by being a green space
- initially people will feel isolated whilst services are being developed
- some people may argue the developments are an eyesore
- potentially the cost of developing a greenfield site could work out more expensive than a brownfield site as access roads and gas pipes have to be implemented

what is greenbelt land?
A
an area around a city which is used for farming or as recreational land
there are strict controls on the development of this land as it is used to control growth in cities

Peacock Farm WEST of Bracknell it has 91 acres of land 14 000 homes 1 doctor 2 primary schools

A
The idea was inspired by South Africa and it is a community with gates used to protect its residents from perceived threats such as burglars
