What was an Asklepion?
A temple of healing where Greek people would to be cured. They would be given a sleeping draught at night and sleep in the temple where Asklepios and his daughters would cure them.
What public health elements existed in the Asklepion temples?
Patients at the temples had access to baths, exercise equipment and fresh air.
What were the four humours?
Blood, Black Bile, Yellow Bile, Phlegm
What would happen if the humours became unbalanced?
You would become ill
What did Hippocrates change about medicine?
He used observation to diagnose his patients. For example if you were sneezing he would conclude that you had too much Phlegm in your body. He also introduced the Hippocratic Oath which meant that doctors swore to put their patients welfare above personal gain.

The body was not needed in the afterlife
How did Greek doctors treat illnesses?
They would try to balance the four humours, for example if they thought you had too much yellow bile in your body they would purge your body to get rid of some of it.
