Why do we read Greek Literature?
So we can learn about what the Greeks Value!!!
What two cultures influenced Greece?
Minoan and Mycenaean cultures.
What caused each polis to be different from each other?
The geography; Mountains caused isolation and lack of communication.
How did geography impact the development of Athens and Sparta?
Athens was near the sea, so they traded with others by ship. Sparta was inland, so it farmed.
How did the Persian War affect Athens and Sparta?
Athens has a GOLDEN AGE because of the Delian League; Sparta goes back to normal.
What caused the Peloponnesian War? Results?
1) The creation of the leagues forced city-states to pick sides.
2) This created a rift (R-I-F-T) between the city-states, and war began.
Results) Sparta wins! But, all city-states are left in ruins.
