Graph information Flashcards
Data Table
Organize data for easier reading and studying
Where does the Independent variable go in a data table?
It goes on the left
Where does the Dependent variable go in a data table?
It goes on the right
Why do scientists utilize graphs
It provides a large amount of data quickly and it allows to carefully analyze the results of an experiment
Types of Graphs
Line graph, Pie/Circle Graph, and Bar Graph or Histogram
Line Graph
Data show a change over a period of time
Pie/Circle Graph
Data is represented in percents
Bar Graph or Histogram
Comparing data from several groups
Rules for constructing graphs
The dependent variable goes on the Y axis (DRY) and the independent goes on the X axis (MIX). The spacing between the numbers must be in equal increments
