Granulopoiesis (Maturation of Granulocytes) Flashcards
Leukogramm
4.000-10.000 /qL (Microliter)
Percentage of each individual type of Leukocyte (Leuko=white cyte=cell)
(Never Let Monkeys Eat Bananas) Neutrophils 60-70% (2-5% are band or rod-like forms) Lymphocytes 20-40% Monocytes 2-10% Eosinophils 2-5% Basophils 0-1%
First stage of Granulopoiesis
Myeloblast
Size 15-20qm
Large nucleus, finely granular chromatin structure, several nucleoli, strong basophillia
paranuclear lightening at the locality of the cytocentrum
Second stage (1st part) of Granulopoiesis
Promyelocyte I (early stage)
22-25 µm
azurophilic granules produced by rER and golgi c. (contain lysosomes)
Developed golgi complex
Second stage (2nd part) of Granulopoiesis
Promyelocyte II (late stage) about the same size 22-25qm azurophilic granules (lysosomes) develops first specific granules (neutrophilic, eosinophilic, basophilic) developed golgi complex
Third stage of Granulopoiesis
Myelocyte (Eosinophilic, Basophilic, Neutrophilic)
15-20qm in size
oval nucleus, coarser chromatin clumps
developed golgi complex producing granules
Fourth stage of Granulopoiesis
Metamyelocyte
hourse-shoe nucleus
post-mitotic
