The Holophrastic Stage

A

The ‘One word Stage’
Where a child conveys a whole sentence of meaning in just a single word.
Usually will need the context and prosodics to understand what the child means.
E.g “Milk”
Spilt, give me, Ive finished.

Two Word Stage

A

Focuses around a few themes.
-Appearance, disappearance and movement of objects
-Comments about object Properties
-Requests for and rejections of objects and activities
-Who/What/Where Qs

Syntax is already almost perfect with 95% of utterances produced in this stage having the proper syntactical order.

E.g Mummy table
E.g Put Table
