What is a noun?
Nouns are words that name people, places, things, that can be seen or touched and things that cannot be seen or touched, such as ideas or feelings.
What is a concrete noun?
Names things you can see and touch.
What is a abstract noun?
Names an idea, quality, action, or felling
What is a collective noun?
Names a group of persons or things.
What is the difference between plural and singular nouns?
Plural is multiple things and singular is one thing.
What is a possesive noun?
A possesive noun shows possesion of the noun that follows
What is a appositive noun?
A appositive is a type of noun that indentifies the same person or object by another name. You must use a comma immediatly following the noun it identifies.
What is a descriptive paragraph?
A descriptive paragraph describes a person, place, or thing. It contains sensory details that show how someone or somethinglooks, feels tastes, sounds, or smells. CAn be written in 3rd person.
What is a homophone?
Words that sound the same but with different sounds.Ex. Red and Read
What is a homograph?
Words that sound the same and are spelt the same. Ex. Jam and Jam
WHat is a homonym?
Words meaning and spelling are different. Ex. Bee and Be
What is the setting?
Ghe setting is the time and place which a story takes place.It may also include the physical conditions.
What is the conflict?
The struggle of two or more opposing forces
What is the body?
Te series of events which make up the conflicts and make it more difficult to resolve
What is foreshadowing?
Often during a story the author will foreshadow whats to come
