What is the setting?
The story takes place at Laurie’s home and school/kinder garden classroom/outside.
What is the plot?
“Charles” is causing troubles in kinder garden. Laurie always goes home to report to his parents about what “Charles” did. Laurie goes to kinder garden, he makes up a character named Charles, Laurie is a troublemaker.
Laurie makes up a whole story about “Charles”. We assume “Charles” is the troublemaker until the last line.
What is the conflict?
Laurie is coming everyday reporting to his parents about what “Charles” did each day.. Everyone knows that its Laurie who is causing the trouble at school, except for Laurie’s parents. Laurie’s parents know nothing about what Laurie does at school.
Literally no one knows who “Charles” is.

The story ends with the teacher saying how there is no Charles in her classroom, and so the story ends with the climax.
What is the resolution?
There is none, it ends with a cliff hanger.
