What are the four steps in becoming a scientist?
- Know your apparatus
- Know to label a diagram
- Know your skills
- Setting out an experiment
What a are the key tips in labelling a science diagram?
- Labels must be in print.
- Labels in lower case. No capitals unless it is a proper noun
- Labels should be in black or blue pen.
- Labels must follow directly under each other.
- Straight line must join the item that needs to be labelled.
What is observation?
The skill of using all your primary senses - seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting and touching.
What is classifying?
Sorting and putting things in to groups based on similarities.
What is measuring?
Data that is used to make predictions or conclusions.
What is inferring?
Making educational guesses about the present.
What is communicating?
The way information is passed onto others.
What is predicting?
Making educational guess about future events based on minimal information.
What is experimenting?
This is what scientist does constantly. To prove or disprove ideas.
