GR4 - Integrated Planning Flashcards
What is the deployment baseline?
-the culmination of the scheduling process, which in a linear life cycle includes:
-requirements capture
-scope & quality defined
-creation of fully resourced schedule
-allowances for risk
-when used, the planned cost curve will be understood
Baseline schedule & resources defined?
-when looking at an iterative life cycle
-scope & quality may vary
-work not achieved in a timebox, returned to the product backlog
What specific thing must the Project Management Plan contain here?
-the product backlog (showing the most importance elements of the project)
Important that the Change Control Approach…?
-reflects the need to embrace change in an iterative project & the ability of the development team to make small improvements within a timebox
What does the Resources section of the Project Management Plan show?
-the skills required in the development team
-number of ppl in the team
-the commitment of the team to the life of the project
Importance of Project Management Plan here?
-basis of monitoring & control
-is reviewed when changes are requested
-part of decision making process when deciding whether to incorporate the change or not
Project Management Plan (PMP) key info:
-output of the Definition phase of project
-collection of plans & strategies describing the project’s objectives & the way it will be managed to ensure success
-based on the Business Case (output of the Concept phase), the project manager & team will be to decide best way to deliver the project’s products
-covers the what, why, when, how, where, who, how much & how good of the project
What does an Integrated Baseline Review ensure?
-the baseline is realistic
-the scope can be completed on time & within budget
What should be reconfirmed before the Deployment Baseline is approved?
-the scope re-confirmed
-the Business Case assumptions reviewed
-if using critical chain… the buffers should be reviewed & confirmed
-(good practice suggests a project professional should undertake an Integrated Baseline Review)
