What is oligarchy?
A small group who rule
What is federation?
Power shared by a powerful central government and states or provinces that are given considerable self-rule, usually though their own legislatures.
What is theocracy?
A government claiming to rule on behalf of a set of religious ideas
What is confederation?
A week or loose organization of states agrees to follow a powerful central government. Nations can choose to follow or not follow the lead of the weak central government.
What is autocracy?
A government where only one person has all the control and makes decisions based on only what they think
What is democracy?
The government is elected by the people
What is dictatorship?
Ruling by a single leader who has not been officially elected and may use force in order to keep control
What is unitary?
One central government controls weaker states. Power is not shared between states, countries of provinces
What is monarchy?
A king or queen rule and the power is passed down through generations. However, there is also a government that is in charge in executing orders
What is anarchy?
Abscence of order or control
What is totalitarianism?
One political party has access to power and control over everyone
