What is Environmental Stewardship?
The responsible use and protection of the natural environment through conservation and sustainable practices to enhance the ecosystem resilience and human well-being.
What is Geography?
The study of the physical features of the earth and its atmosphere, and of human activity as it affects and is affected by by these, including the distribution of populations and resources, land use, and industries
What is an Advocate?
A person who pubicly supports or reccommends a particular cause or policy.
What is Activism?
The policy or action of using vigorous campaigning to bring about political or social change.
What is Preservation?
Keeping/maintaing at its original or existing state.
What is Conservation?
Prevention of a wasteful use of a resource
What is Sustainability?
Being able to maintain something at a certain rate or level.
What is Sustainable Development?
Sustainable development recognizes that meeting our present needs is just as important as ensuring we are not compromising the chances of future generations to meet their needs.
What is Ecological Footprint?
The impact of a person or community on the environment, expressed as the amount of land required to sustain their use of natural resources.
What does the Departmeent of Energy and Environmental Protection (D.E.E.P.) do?
- Conserves, improves, and protects the natural resources and the environment
- Cheaper, cleaner and more reliable energy available for the people and the businesses of the state
- Rebuilds Connecticut’s economy and creates jobs
What does the Department of Interior do?
The Department of Interior plays a central role in how the United States stewards its public lands, increases environmental protections, pursues environmental justice, and honors our nation-to-nation relationship with Tribes
