What is the first-line treatment for gout?
NSAID’s and ice
What therapies are used when NSAIDs can’t be used?
Colchicine, steroids, intraarticular injections
What drugs are used for gout prophylaxis and what MOA?
Allopurinol prevents the formation of uric acid
Probenecid encourages renal excretion
