Describe the conservative, medical and surgical management of GORD

A

Conservative:

  • Smaller, lighter meals
  • Avoid heavy meals before bed time
  • Avoid tea, coffee, alcohol
  • Smoking cessation

Medical:

  • Antacid meds e.g. Gaviscon, Rennie
  • PPIs, e.g. lansoprazole, omeprazole

Surgical:
- Laparoscopic fundoplication
