procedure
16 men for two days. The researchers made sure that each participant had the same level of testosterone. The treatment condition got given a dose of testosterone and the control condition received placebo. They had a fMRI scan, where their brain activity was measured as they saw images of faces which expressed different emotions.
results
increased testosterone conditions resulted In higher activity in the amygdala when shown a picture of an angry face
conclusion
higher levels of testosterone can cause an individual to be more aggressive and the activity of the amygdala and hypothalamus can be increased as a result of high testosterone levels
