Goal setting is one cognitive based strategy for what?
to increase performance and personal development
Goal setting can enhance what?

When is goal setting not productive?
If set too low: make little to no progress.
If set too high: too difficult to obtain.
Why are goals not achieved?
1: self initiated but not self endorsed
2: not enough interpersonal support -or- support is too controlling
3: Inability to stop goals that may not be attainable to reach those that are

ex: proper form through the backswing
Specific goals enhance performance when?
on low complexity tasks more so than on high complexity tasks
