God is the lawgiver
A
- The cardinal moment of revelation was when God revealed the Torah (written and Oral Torah) to the Jewish people at Mt Sinai after the exodus from slavery.
- God is the source of morality. He provides an ethical framework for living which an adherent is required to follow
- Revelation continues through the text and the interpretation of the text by Rabbis through divine wisdom → Judaism is therefore a religion of revealed law.
