what are the three types of mood?
declarative mood is a statement
interrogatives ask a question
imperative- imperative sentence not an imperative verb
what is register?
level of formality
frozen- specific ritualised occasions, oldest and most formal register
formal-the way in which you speak to strangers in professional context
informal-the way in which you speak to strangers when being friendly
demotic- the way you speak to your friends
intimate- the least formal register, the way in which you speak to partners, babies or pets
what is parenthetical?
anything in between commas, brackets or dashes
