Globalism, Mcdonaldisation. Flashcards
What is Mcdonaldisation?
It is the creation of more businesses that have a standardised process in which you can expect a certain experience every time regardless of the place you’re in.
What are Mcjobs?
Standardised jobs in which the worker is made to be as robotic and regular as possible. They aren’t even encouraged to ask about a customers day but requested to be almost invisible and simply do their job.
How does Mcdonaldisation benefit the areas in which it occurs?
It may encourage the raising of hygiene standards in certain poorer areas as the introduction of fairly good practices in Mcdonalds makes other companies compete if they are to retain business from their other customers.
What are some of the indicators of Globalisation occurring?
The popping up of new advertisements and businesses in particularly remote areas indicates that their influence is spreading to regions that may never have before had the presence of these corporations.
