Globalisation has eroded local cultures and produced identification homogenised places through the appearance of global chains.
What is a clone town?
A term used to describe High streets that are dominated by chain stores.

Totnes, Devon launched an anti Costa campaign.
How did Totnes attempt to block homogenisation?
Costa attempted to open an outlet so 3/4s of the town signed a petition saying they would boycott any coffee shop chain that came to Totnes. Costa withdrew their plans.
What is glocalisation?
When a multinational company adapts to the local market place to fit their culture and identity.
Give an example of a franchise that have glocalised.
McDonald’s who have rester aunts in over 100 countries. In Hindu countries they removed beef from the menu and in Muslim countries pork has been removed.
