- greater integration of information and people creates a better understanding between people of different backgrounds and cultures

- as countries become more interconnected they become more dependent on one another which encourages negative actions to not take place otherwise it would ruin this equilibrium

- foreign investment brings capital(money) into a country which can be used to improve education and infrastructure. this can attract further trade and investment=further investment

- participation in global trade allows countries to profit from their natural resources and specialist industries to generate profit. greater access to money and products improves peoples standard of living

- companies low skilled jobs go to lic’s so low skilled workers in hic’s find it more difficult to earn money. this creates a bigger divide between the rich and poor
- developed countries have greater access to technology and money which means they have a better advantage than lic’s

developed countries have intervened in conflicts in order to secure access to natural resources like oil
