What are examples of greenhouse gases
Methane, carbon dioxide, water vapour
Causes for co2 rising
Burning loads of fossil fuels
Deforestation (less photosynthesis which removes co2)
Causes for methane rising
Farm animals produce methane during digestion (released into the atmosphere)
Humans produce huge amounts of waste
Released as waste is decomposed by microorganisms
Consequences of global warming
Droughts/hurricanes/floods all will become more common and severe
Sea levels will rise
Animals might not be able to survive in new environments
Biodiversity levels are falling
Why are sea levels rising
Ice will melt from the icecaps and flow into the ocean
As water in the ocean warms up it expands increasing the volume
What will happen to the species that can’t adapt to their new environment
They will go extinct
