Why is it hotter at the equator?:
A
Suns rays/energy is stronger at the equator. Suns rays are weaker at the north and south pole so it is colder.

What does the difference in temperature do to the earth?
A
The hot air rises at the equator. It then cools and sinks. Three cells of air circling round are created. The Hadley cell The Ferrell cell The Polar cell The same thing happens north and south of the equator.
