What are the different types of hand pipes?
Spoon, Hammer, Chillum, Sherlock, Gandalf, Sidecar, Steamroller

What are customers referring to when they say they want something “Double or Triple Blown?”
There’s no such thing as double or triple blown glass. The designs are placed on the outside of the glass and flipped inside. They are usually fumed with stripes of color and sometimes dichro running through the glass.
How are “frit” pieces made?
Frit pieces are made by using smaller particles of glass.
How are “dichro” pieces made?
Dichro is multiple thin layers of different metals vaporized in a vacuum chamber.
How are “wrap and rake” pieces made?
Fumed, and wrapped in a string of color. Those strings are then rakes across the glass with either color or clear rods.
How are “fumed” pieces made?
Real gold and silver are heated to release fumes that give transparent glass this semi-opaque look. Gold: Pink, Green, Orange. Silver: Blue/Purple
How is linework tubing made?
Made with glass rod and stingers placed inside of 2 clear tubes. The tube is then vacuum sealed and then melted and pulled into much smaller tubes.
How is a colored tube made?
Not much to do. You take the tubing and form a pipe.
