What is freeze thaw weathering?
A
Water into cracks, freezes, expands by 10% and repeats again and again causing pressure and rock to shatter.

What is nivation?
A
Processes involving snow and ice that cause erosion.

How do nivation hollows form?
A
They are where snow gather in a small depression and eventually this erodes into a full hollow full of snow. Nivation hollows are the beginnings of corries.
